i wish that i had an electric guitar. that would open up a world of more possibilities... i really like to play some three days grace stuff, or fall out boy, the only problem is that i have this strange aversion to untuning my guitar from standard. what's the point of drop D anyway??? lol.

Cocaine is also a really easy song to play. However since we all know that Cocaine is bad for you, when I sing it in public I change the word to "romaine," as in the lettuce. It might be silly but it works for me.

I hear that Clapton now has the background singers sing "Bad cocaine." That's his way of dealing with it.

drop d is actually incredibly simple, i thought it was complicated, but its not... just drop your low E string down a bit so instead of the 5th fret matching your open 5th (a) note, the 7th fret is an A... not to complicated once you get it down, i can switch in about 10 seconds usually

edit: oh, you said "whats the point" nevermind, i'll leave that there for anyone, but it makes a bit heavier sound usually, you can make power chords easier, and you can get a low D note, but otherwise not too much different

Hello,

This is where people just tell the songs they adore to play on the Guitar. I want to know;

1~ What band sung the song?

2~ What is the song title?

3~ What do you like about the song? Why?

4~ Anything else interesting you would like to add about why?

5~ Do you listen and play at the same time?

6~ What guitar do you play on? (Brand name [Example: Fender], guitar type name [Example: Stratocaster])

Thanks ahead of time,

Always the Roy Clark Medley-"Alabama Jubilee-12th Street Rag-Honkey Tonk.
Lets me turn loose and show case my Fender, and I guess my fingers.
I play my 1966 Fender Mustang I have had since new, and everything on it is still all original.
Over the years, from once in a while picking, to the road band for quite a few years, to now semi-retired weekend picker, this has always been my signature piece when playing in a band.
Other than that, just playing behind a good singer is my speciality, with my Fender Volume and Tone foot pedal and Fender Super Reverb, tube amp and Echo Plex, I wouldn't have anything other than Fender.

um... what kind of rock... i have varied taste myself, but i would recommend something simple like Green Day. it's really easy to have fun with, and because it's simple you can jump around and run like a crazy chicken with your head cut off... sorry, i get carried away sometimes. my fav's are:
Brain Stew (as mentioned)
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
Prosthetic Head
Welcome to Paradise (I prefer the version on Kerplunk rather than the one on Dookie. THe harmonies are different on the chorus, but the guitar's the same)

all of the tabs are available on http://www.ultimate-guitar.com

that's my fav site for tabs. they have 50 versions of everything...lol. hope that helps.

1~ What band sung the song? black label society (acoustic)

2~ What is the song title? sold my soul

3~ What do you like about the song? Why? i like the sound a steel stringed acoustic guitar makes and it reminds me about someone special in my life

4~ Anything else interesting you would like to add about why? i love the powerfull singing of zakk wylde

5~ Do you listen and play at the same time? yes :)

6~ What guitar do you play on? (Brand name [Example: Fender], guitar type name [Example: Stratocaster]) used to play it on my gretsch white falcon which would be a lil odd for a black label song but i soon sold it and now i play it on my gibson sg as it sounds great with an acoustic simulator and for the solo the EMG's make one hell of a difference

1. Originally by Ray Charles, recreated by John Scofield and John Mayer
2. I Don't Need No Doctor
3. The riff is soooo fun to play. It can be jazzy, funky, bluesy, whatever you want. It all depends on how you play it.
4. Mayer has been playing it on his latest tour and it's been growing as a song into this extended blues jam.
5. It's more fun to play by yourself and improvise on the song. I use recordings as a backing track to solo sometimes though.
6. Never play it on anythign but my strat.
