I took my Variax into the shop for a repair and I really miss it. Turn around time is about two weeks. I don't know if I'm going to survive without it.

I did that once, but luckily I have 2 guitars. that way while the other is in the shop there is still one at home to keep me occupied.

Aren't we supposed to have or covet a Fender if we're in this here Lounge?

That said, Variax is hip-sounding, playable. Five years in the harem and it's not for disposal.

But the Jazzmaster gets played 10-1 over it.

Go buy or borrow a nice Fender to ease your grief while the Vax is in the hospital. Straight, passive-electronics Fenders are 1.483279 zillion percent more reliable, anyway.

Just don't soil the floors or eat shoes and you should be okay.

i like the replacement strat bodies for the variax.

I'd have one if they were strat/tele shaped from new.

This is why I like to keep 2 Strats. If one goes in to be worked on, there is no separation anxiety.

I once traded in my MiM Strat for a Jackson DKMG...worst 2 weeks of my life, I literally had trouble sleeping. I did eventually get that very same Strat back, and I'm glad I did! :D
