I have a new fender deluxe strat would like to put 10ga stings on it dose it need the nut file for this it has been setup

Welcome to the Forum.

It would depend on the size of the E string. If you went 10-42 it would be fine. If you went 10-48 it might need a little tweak.

Also going from 9's to 10's usually requires a little bit of tweaking on the setup too.

'Agree (as usual) with Chet. If you get serious about liking the 10s, consider taking it in for a neck tweak, intonation, all that stuff to get the most out of the instrument.

Personal experience, a Strat in general sounds best with 10s or 11s, favour being strongly toward 11s

I'll use this thread to ask my own silly string question. What strings are factory-issue? I'm looking to get a new set for my MIM Strat. The ones it came equipped with work very well for me, and I'd like to keep with the same gauge (not to mention I don't want to deal with the whole trem issue). Are they 9s?

I think MiM Strats are fitted with a set of 9's. I could be wrong though, I mean, I'm just going by what came on my Strat.
