That's a hard statement to second. The bassist in my group of friends hasn't been single since the 8th grade.

To get the girls, depends on what you play. You could be Malmsteen but I guarantee more girls would want some guy who just knocked out a bad $@! Sleepwalk. I got a surprising amount (also the most) of attention from when I was in an 80s cover band... so who knows?

girls love boys anyway (or not? ). but an artist especially a musician is more attractive (especially when hes handsome) than an ordinary guy. but that doesnt happen with girls.

I'm not sure what you mean... girls who play guitars don't attract guys? I think female guitar players are VERY attractive! (don't tell my wife)

OK, I've had some time to think over this...its not the musicianship that attracts the ladies...

The ladies attract us.

Rhythm players do it better.

I would have to agree with that, strongly (I'm a rhythm player). But you know.......it would be so nice, and also refreshing, if women just loved us for our minds, instead of thinking of us as just a piece of meat. We have feelings too, you know.

This is my favorite quote in this whole thread. I think I'd actually like to be thought of as a hunk of meat just once...

Of course I wouldn't act on anything since I've been happily married for 18+ years but it would be a good feeling if even for a few minutes.

Haha... The real truth is that if you play both, you are worthy of hoards and hoards of women. If you can them both MAB style, then you probably deserve my harem too.

So... theoretically... would a female be attracted to you if you play the blues soulfully, rather than (shred) metal? Even if you're a blues guitarist who plays in the pocket, and doesn't shred his pants off, who DOESN'T want to play the e minor arpeggio all across the fretboard in 3 seconds in front of people (maybe girls)? I wouldn't play to get the girls... i let 'em come, and if they don't (which they haven't), guess what, i don't really care. Musicians should play what they want to, and what they want their audience to feel. That's why sadists should play the blues, not metal :)
SO what's it about the bassist or rhythm guitarist that a girl just adores? I still wanna play lead though...

What?! Ahaha! Wow. Hey man, most chicks your age prefer crappy versions of crappy over-played crap. If you want to sway women over, you've got to learn some of the most loved music on this side on the world (European women really like Malmsteem). Scallop your frets. Swith out your pickups (or experiment with your Bullet. Scallop that one first). Learn to play Technical Difficulties. Women will be EVERYWHERE.
