Is there truth to the folklore that girls are attracted to guitar players? That is, more than girls are attracted to guys in the general population?

This is a scientifically interesting question in that one wonders whether certain sonic ranges have an attractive effect. Are you aware of any research in this area?

That, actually, I question. 90% of the people who DO play guitar at my school play acoustic, and the "punks" as you would call them, play the electric. But aside from the generalization, so many people play guitar that it doesn't really seem to be so much a recognized talent...unless you're just the next Malmsteen. :?

Some girls like singers better.

I'd have to say yes. Guitars attract girls.

All I know.......is that when I have to go somewhere with my guitar....I cover up the guitar case with a blanket, when carrying it from my house to my truck. Otherwise, all of a sudden.....without warning.....a flock of women start to surround me, and I can't get to the truck. I really hate when that heppens.........

They do, but at the end of the night, the girls go home with the bass player, and the guitar player goes home with himself, which is who he really loves.

What if girls played the guitar and others knew about it (fenderfanatic)  :?

Girls and guys don't give if you play guitar, but if they see you play really well, that's another story ;)

Oh yeah and girls LOVE bass players.

Noel Redding and Billy Cox went home with all the girls and had them all the time and hendrix just went home with his guitar, right? LOL j/k.

For the most part, that's the way it's worked for me. But it wasn't always just because of the guitar.
