BB King's new album "One Kind Favor" came out last Tuesday. I got the chance to listen to it over the weekend and thought that it was good, classic BB. This album is a little more aggressive than some of his more recent stuff. There are a lot of slower blues numbers, so if you like his voice and his expressive guitar lines, you'll probably like this album.

I wish I would've known that yesterday. I was at a music store and could've sampled it.

Thanks for the review.

BB is coming to my town this month. I'm hoping to go see him. If he's got good new material all the better.

I picked up One Kind Favor last week and it is very good! I would suggest giving it a listen. Mr. King will be in my neck of the woods in October. I have my ticket and am very excited!

A link to Rhapsody to listen to the album. Try before you buy if you wish.

I knew it was coming out but I didn't know when. I've been told it's a collection of old blues tunes he had never recorded before.

He doesn't have a bunch of guest stars on it, does he?

Nope, it's just BB and a damn fine studio band.

wasnt this the album that was suposed to be recorded "the old fashioned way", like the way they used to record vinyls and such?

Yeah, I'm listening to it now. The quality is better but it's got that 50's/60's 4 track vibe. If you watch that video link I posted above you can see the studio setup.
