Okay, so, I just got a new job. In one of the corridors there is an old Yamaha Electone B-6E blocking the way. I asked my boss about it and she said she was about to give it away to a flea market. I told her I might be interested. It's not entirely functional but looks okay. I'm trying to find out what's a reasonable price to buy it for (she wants to give it to me for free  , but I'd rather pay something).

I read on the internet that the B-6E apparently is an old model, from 1969 or 1970 or something like that..

Is it worth anything?

Does it kind of look like a Hammond? If so, it might be a circa 1965 model with 44 keys on the upper keyboard and only 37 keys on the lower.

I'm not sure what the value is, but if negotiable, it might be a good score?

Yamaha has come a long way since then, especially with their Motif ES, XS and other synths using that chipset.

It does indeed look like a hammond  That was the first thing that sprung to my mind, like "Whoa, is that a real HAMMOND?" It'll be a tight fit in my tiny apartment, but I'm leaning more and more towards getting it, if nothing else just for fun :D

Got it today! It's from 1968 (68!) and in perfect condition, save a few dents in the finish. I think it's one of the coolest things I've ever bought (got).

Now all I gotta do is learn how to play it... 8)
