Sometimes something great in your life comes along, and you don't truly realize how much it means to you. Possessions suddenly become part of the family; they are always there for you, always ready to do their job faithfully, always able to weather the abuse, all just to give you what you ask.

For 3 years she was my sidekick, my counter-top, seat, diving board, attention getter, but she was also much more, something I can never put into words.

The most memorable moment and testament to her strength was during a show in a small little bar. The stage was on the floor with the rest of the bar, and the bar backs had to pass right behind our set. They dropped a full keg and a case of bottled beer right on top of my girl, soaking her inside and out, yet she still blazed through the show like she was brand new, even our full enclosure couldn't stand up to that punishment. She and I experienced countless shows, and every show, good or bad, she were there for me.

I don't think I can ever again find such a faithful companion.

Last night, you were stolen from me, and I pray that you somehow find your way back. Yet I know you will never give anyone else what you gave me.

You shined baby, and I will miss you forever.

Love LK

You have my sympathies man. God I hate gear theives. That's why there always has to be some to stand guard over the gear during breaks or after the show. Check the local hock shops. Some methhead may have already hocked it for another few sleepless days. If you have the serial number and find it in a hockshop you might be able to get it back without buying it. Did you file a police report?

Some jerk just goes over and acts like he belongs and just takes it in full view of everyone. It's so bold no one thinks anything of it.

For future reference, here's what I do with all of my equipment, I have a digital photo of every item along with the serial number, stored on file on my computer.

+1, it's the only smart thing to do nowadays.

Yup, you have to have a guard by the stage and by the van during the load and unload.

Thieves suck. Gotta hope the universe will settle the score with them.

(Thief opens zipper, hears thunk oh, no, what just fell off? Oh, no...!)

Take note people...pics on all your gear....closeups.....identifying cosmetic defects......serial numbers etc. neck/body dates.....the whole nine yards. Putting it out on the web like this....also of value.

Personal note....Some years back, Santana's #1 was stolen and the event was well publicized in guitar circles. It made its way across the country and eventually an attempt was made to sell it in a local music venue in my old stomping grounds in south Brooklyn .(Royal Music, Rockaway Parkway). The owners were not pikers in this business. They knew what they were looking at. So they asked the dude for a driver's license in pretense to verify ID and while the perp was waiting, the cops were called and Carlos got his baby back intact.
