I have an off night and they're under the tent, beside the harbor this Saturday night. Anyone seen the show/have reviews ?

I haven't had a chance to see the show (damn!) but a couple of buddy's did a few months ago back east. These buddy's are long time Zappa fans, since the early 70's. They said the show was amazing. Franks old band headed up by Dweezil? Can't do much better then that!

I've seen a few video's from the concerts and I was blown away. It was just like a Frank show. Amazing musicians playing amazing music.

Don't miss that show!

Has to be one outstanding show!
I (attempted) to play several Zappa tunes during Frank's rein. Still love the music.

I still keep a few Frank tunes in the repertoire.

Zoot Allures: Zoot Allures

Why Does it Hurt When I Pee?: Joes Garage

Now if I could only play Black Napkins.....

Dweezil is no slouch when it comes to playing guitar. The show was fantastic and they even slipped in some "surprise" arrangements of some of Frank's material that went over great. 8)

Glad you enjoyed the show. I'd love to catch it myself. I've had the pleasure of seeing Frank 5 times in the 70's and was never disappointed. That was an amazing band.

Oh yeah, Dweezil is no slouch. He's great. I do remember reading somewhere that he said it took a couple of years to learn dad's guitar parts for the tour.

Dweezil has the "tapping" method down pat and used an SG and what looked like a Stratocaster.

Miami Mike thanks for the link to Zombie Wolf.

I enjoyed listening to it and watching it very much.

I saw Zappa (bows head in respect) with Captain Beefheart back in '72 and it was an experience I'll never forget.

I missed the show they did out here. It's going to be an ongoing thing. I read an interview with Dweizel where he was talking about how he wants to keep on doing it with different guests covering different periods in Frank's career indefinatly. Like, it'll be a new tour with new people every year. I hope that works out. Frank Zappa was an amazing guitar player and writer.
