How about Little Feat with Lowell George and Paul Barrere -- and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers when Coco Montoya and Walter Trout were together in the band??

and I must agree with orvilleowner about the Wishbone Ash Powell/Turner duo - one of my all time favorites....

Stryper???? Now there's a blast from the past!! I saw them live at Wolfgangs in San Francisco soon after the Old Waldorf burnt down, about 1985 or so.
People still listen to Stryper? Wow ... and I thought I was old school. Good call, dude. They did have some noteworthy git playing (that was why I was there, actually).
No offense, though, but I could never get myself to buy any of their albums, though...

I would agree with you except I would say especially John. In the Beatles' latter years, John did lots of the lead guitar work.
Also, don't forget this guy below ... he also played a lot of lead and rhythm work on the Beatle albums (Anyone remember Abbey Road??)

that's my vote too, both of those pairs played off each other rather than just being two guitarists playing on the same song.

Thats why Stradlin and Slash were so good, the interplay is amazing.

I have to go with what comes into my mind first John and George and all the magic the brought. Even the first twin harmony lead-And Your Bird Can Sing. Without a Doubt the most underated of the great lead players and Johns Rhythm playing was always killer. I bet more than 50% of the guys on the forum would have a problem playing his part in All My Loving correct.
