Hey All,

I was wondering who you consider to be the best guitar duo's of all time. I generally think Richards/Taylor (stones), Stradlin/Slash (GnR) and Whitford/Perry (Aerosmith). I'm probably missing a lot of really good duo's. I'm interested to hear everyone's .02.

Thanks

You are missing the best one. Some will argue KK & Glen. You have to dig a little more, but can also make a great argument for the "dueling Pats" (Travers & Thrall circa "Go For What You Know").

But here is your answer:

THIN LIZZY -- Brian Robertson & Scott Gorham

JEEZ LOUISE-How did I forget Goran/Robertson... I guess I also forgot Allman/Betts. Although I think that Thin LIzzy may be the best duo of all time.

A couple that didn't last long, but were good:

Duane Allman and Eric Clapton
Albert King and SRV

+1! I am currently working on Jailbreak! I was just thinking Gorham & Robertson but you beat me to it! You gotta love dual lead guitars!

Bob Bogle and Don Wilson, as the original The Ventures, because they 'made' instrumental pop a legitimate musical form

I'll put in a vote for Stradlin' and Slash. To me they are right up there with the Rolling Stones duos over the years. Stradlin' way underrated. Great guitarist.

Lots of good ones, from GNR to Thin Lizzy, but as for duos I gotta vote Keith and Ron

In Keith's own words, "individually we're pretty lousy but together we're better 10 others" :D

I am totally surprised that it's not Keith and Mick Taylor but Keith and Ron. I guess Keith will make anyone sound better.Image
