A friend of mine and I go back and forth on this, and I would love to hear the thoughts of the lounge.

What in your opinion is THE best performance of Comfortably Numb?
The choices are from commercially released CD / DVD recordings, I had to include Roger’s attempt to replace Dave, even though the Berlin recording with Van Morrison is very, very good.

My choice is the Delicate Sound of Thunder performance, simply incredible, Dave at his best.

There is unfortunately not a commercially available recording of David Gilmour’s” 1984 “About Face” tour, which IMHO rates second. If you ever what to hear that recording check out: http://www.floydpodcast.com/

I say the Live8 one simply because that was Floyd together again after 20+ years.

But the Pulse version, and in particular that tour when they came to Tampa in '94, still brings chills to me at the second solo.

I love the Live 8 show, and I am probably one of the biggest Floyd fans on the planet, and have seen them, David and Roger on their own, but Roger can not sing like he used to. Still I love the fact that they got back together, and went out like they should have.....together :D

Run Like Hell from PULSE is probably one of THE BEST live recordings ever!

I never liked Roger's The Wall (Live in Berlin) with Van Morrison version. True that Roger can't sing like he once could. After watching some of the Remember That Night DVD, my wife made the comment that "Dave looks scary now". I lol'd.

check out Dar Williams version of comfortably numb... when I heard it, I was like... um, numb.

Not the best, but possibly the worst ever.

PULSE...I was the first in line when it came out on DVD

I wish they would release Delicate Sound of Thunder on DVD. I have it on VHS but it has been played to death!
