It was 18 years ago today we lost Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Words escape me. His music has touched me in so many ways.

RIP Stevie.

A huge loss for sure. His death really derailed the Blues revival that began in the '80s, too. There's really been no one of his stature to carry the torch since.

Actually I think you fat fingered the keyboard, it's been 18 years. Stevie died in 1990.
Makes you wonder what the blues revival would have been like had he lived.
I remember hearing him on the radio for the first time in 1983 I think. I probably heard him before, but that year was the first year I really heard him.

He definately left some great music behind, but it would be hard to argue that his best music didn't lie ahead of him.

I remember that. they always say, something in your life, will remember where you were, when you heard it. And.....other than Kennedy assassination.......SRVs death was the only other thing. I was working graveyard shift..........was driving home.....and I heard the news on the radio. I was crushed. I considered him the best blues player to come along in years.

Yeah, I guess I left my math hat in the closet today. I'll correct it.

No matter what I would write here, it would not do him justice. Truly a legend.

His music was a gift to us. He was an example to follow for his determination. And the way he evolved to be the man we knew just before he was taken away from us, is an inspiration for hope.

RIP STEVIE.

My wife and I wondered if Eric Clapton would make his concert in Kansas City... It was scheduled only days after Stevies death.
Eric did make the show, We all had tears in our eyes as Clapton played and paid tribute to his friend. Folks, I dont think we have ever heard a finer show.

RIP SRV

Where you aware that the seat that Stevie was in on that helicopter was supposed to be Eric Clapton's? Stevie was in hurry to leave and asked Eric if he could have his seat.

I just discovered his music within the past few months. Before that I had never heard of him. I checked to see if he had any new albums and was saddened and surprised to see that he had died almost 20 years ago.
