I bought a Fender V Mod Tele pickup set at Sam Ash, and the bridge pickup was microphonic. Of course, at that point it has to be returned through Fender, not Sam Ash.

Jan 8th, I was told I’d receive a replacement later in the month or possibly early Feb. then I get an email Feb 6th that there was still a bit of a delay.

It is now Feb 22nd, and no pickup.

How is it that Fender can’t figure out how to get a guy a freaking bridge pickup before a month and a half ??? That’s not even close to acceptable. I’ve already received guitar parts from China, South Korea, and Hungary all bought after the date of sending my pickup back to Fender. And the China parts sat through a quarantine period.

Put that in perspective.. Fender couldn’t get me a pickup in quicker time than a guitar part sent from China that sat through a quarantine period of 1- week on top of the customs and shipping time. That’s sad. That’s ridiculous. Is my new pickup being made on the moon being wound by a sloth?

I’m wondering if this is going to go over 2-months.

For 1 bridge pickup.

It’s not like I ordered a custom spec pickup, it’s a common V-Mod sold everywhere. I could go into Sam Ash right now and they’d have a few sets on hand. Guitar Center probably has a few.

When I do eventually get it, if anyone ever asks me what kind of pickup is in my Tele, I’m going to tell them it’s a Fender Custom Shop Sloth Moon pickup.
