D'Addario XL 120 9.5 gauge. I'm used to shorter scale guitars and the 9.5 gauge feels like 10 gauge on my Strat.

I'd love to add my opinion here... To me, each of my guitars plays and sounds good with a specific set, so I try to match up the instrument with a different brand, material, and gauge of strings. Trem vs. non-trem and all that.

We haven't talked about Nickel-plated steel (NPS) vs. pure Nickel yet... Nickel gives me a better grip and a little darker, vintage-y timbre. NPS responds better (IMO) to distortion and is more resistant to corrosion.

Now, if you guys are into slinky's, EXLs, etc. I wonder if you've heard of Fender's Standard Tension sets? I love these things! With a lower tension, I'm using heavier gauge ST250M .011s on my Tele and getting killer tone, but I can still bend notes! Ask your dealer about them.

Hey everyone, first post here. This place looks great. I've been an Ernie Ball user for a while now. Originally I used .09-.42's but last summer the neck on my Strat had some warping problems so the local guitar tech in town recommended that I use a heavier gauge string to help the neck a little. I switched to .10's then and haven't gone back since. Even if there wasn't that original warping problem it was still a great upgrade to move up that one gauge. So now I use .10-.46's on my little ol' Strat.

I use D'Addario EXL 110. Everyone over here in Holland seems to use 'm so they come cheap. I've got very sweaty palms and apparantly very acidic sweat  so I have to change quite often. Elixirs are to slick for my six strings but I have to admit that they work wonders on my JazzBass (still feels funny, though).

same here, i get very sweaty hand/palms and my sweat is very acidic (compared it to hydrochloric they did) but i think the elixirs are great on my acoustic, the extra light ones work a treat

I am addicted to Thomastik-Infield. Depending upon the guitar, the Power Brights, Jazz Swing Flats, or Jazz BeBop Round.

I mainly use D'Addario 11 gauge but occasionally will use 12's or 13's.
