I'm trying to find good dexterity exercises that will help me master moving up and down the fretboard. Can you give me some good suggestions? Thanks.

This is a great video lesson on Youtube about connecting pentatonics and breaking out of the boxes...

Free Guitar Lesson from Joe Cefalu of Shred Academy - "Hopscotch"

And another great one...

Grab the tab for both lessons here...

im sorry i suck at this but i guess you can try to just keep doing it, like keep practiceing it. Also You can look at the top of the fret board, which has dots on it. you can learn how to count them as well.

With one of the side effects being neuropathy, in my chemotherapy treatments, what I do is play a variation of the chromatic scale in the first position.
I play the first four frets then after I play those I play the 5th string on the first fret.
Then I play the 2nd , 3rd, and 4th Frets on the 6th string.
I keep working my way down the strings in this manner until I finish on the first string.

Good luck, it does help!

Practicing the SCALES is a wonderful way to practice! Practice them faster, then faster, then faster, rinse, and repeat. Trust me, scales help. They sure helped me. :D

Go through a scale up and down and then move on to the next root note based on the circle of fifths. Helps me when I need a decent exercise.
