In my 50s now.

Started when I was 13. Stopped when I was about 20. Picked it up again a few years ago.

You're never too old. You can be too young but anyone over 6 can start, IMHO.

My 15 yo's friends think that I am cooler than he is because he plays the trumpet!

you're not old... you're just as old as you feel.... i'm 18, and i'm saying that... so it's official then. you're not old. i don't count people as old until about 70. you've still got a ways to go... lol.

There's an idea I like..... bands charging for performances based on age and years playing. Journeyman bands making more then new bands. Yeah, I can dig that. I wonder what the rate would be for 37 years of playing????
