I'm running IE7. I guess I'll hold off for a while.

First off Stratmansteve and anyone else who cares.
Go to Start - then All Programs - then Accesories - then System Tools - then System Information. The second line has OS version information. It should say something like: blah blah blah Service Pack 3 blah.

I did the same thing with automatic updates. Service Pack 3 updated automatically overnight. When I booted up the next day, everything worked fine. The day after the next I booted up and I couldn't log into the internet, it wanted to log in but was extremely slow. It was even slower than dialup. I figured the internet was down, I have a cable modem. So I waited a couple days and called my provider, they were ok. So I knew I had just updated to the latest service pack. Microsoft India (anyone who answers the phone there) had me disable all my add-ons in IE. I then called my internet provider and they remotely reset my connection and after that everything was ok. So some of my add-ons are incompatable with IE.

I don't have a laptop, but if I ever get one I'm seriously looking at Apple. It doesn't seem like they have as many problems as Microsoft does. And now it seems Apple is letting you load more Windows programs. The only thing I don't like about Apples are the screen size and the price.
Most of the problems are when using IE7 people who are using IE6 dont seem to have the issues. Also once you put the SP3 on your system you will see that the unistall is no longer available in the add remove programs they took that availability away but if you have IE6 you can still uninstall and run what you want. MS says if you wish to go back to IE6 you have ti uninstall SP3 put SP2 back in then do so. Then they got some long reason why this has to be done this way. I never have any of my systems set to auto update because when they send there uupdate out the first week of each month I will wait 2 or 3 weeks to see what issues come up with people then I pick which I want. MS has caused a lot of software problems for other applications that are not theres but if they are not going to support the old service packs what can you do.

Get Firefox.......I love it!

Should let people no this was a big issue with people who have HP computers that have the AMD processor. This was put out by HP because they did something with the processor that they were told not to by MS because it would cause ploblems starting and restarting over and over. This is there release.

HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - About Windows XP Service Pack 3

On March 6, 2008 Microsoft released Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP. Service Pack 3 contains all of the important Windows updates from previous service packs as well as additional updates that were released after Service Pack 2. To install Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the Internet on a home desktop computer use the Windows Update feature.
CAUTION: If you have an HP Pavilion, HP Media Center or Compaq Presario desktop computer that has an AMD processor, your PC might encounter a startup problem after installing SP3 (or SP3 will not download from Windows Update). Before attempting to install SP3, install sp37394 - Microsoft Windows XP SP3 Upgrade Utility for systems with AMD processors .
