Well, my band and I are going to be playing at a show at our school in several months. It is a benefit show for Stephanie Udall; she passed away 2 years ago in a four wheeler accident. We are trying to find a song to match the feel of this show, something emotional and that conveys the right feelings...
Any suggestions?

Tornado of Souls by Megadeth?

...ok but seriously, I can imagine that "To Live is to Die" by Metallica would be good, if you can handle it.

Some more acoustic stuff would be fitting I think. Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day would fit well I think. Times Like These acoustic by the Foo Fighters can get emotional. Also check out Friend of a Friend and Still by them as well (both off the acoustic disc of one of their albums.) Lucky, All I Need, and Everything in its Right Place by radiohead seem to be quite emotional and fitting to me as well.

Mike, we think alike as I was about to say that same song. Great lyrics. 8)

I was about to simply suggest something slow and sweet that you can play well. That doesn't narrow it down much.

Then I saw the post on "behind blue eyes". I second that. My favorite lullabye of sorts is based on a slight rearragement of the sus2 chords in that song. I play it slower and change the duration of some of the notes, it sounds wonderful.

What about Love Me When I'm Gone by Three Doors Down?
