I find this to be as pertinent as How cold is it? How hot is it? What's your favorite finger or the myriad of other non-music related topics that the moderator is allowing. Mine is Schweigert, what is yours?

I haven't eaten a hotdog since 1969, after reading Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle".

I haven't had any in a long time, and usually have had Bar S, ones when I was broke, because they were $0.89. :P But if that's not the case, I do like Nature's Promise, which is an organic store brand from the Stop And Shop market, where I live, that doesn't use any nitrates in it. At least, that's what we'd typically get. I've also had Boar's Head, Sabrett, and Nathan's, just to name a few, depending if they were on sale, or whatever.

My favorite hot dog was from Al's on Taylor Street in Chicago. After a hot dog, we walked across the street for an Italian Ice. Great times.

Brand name I think Nathans are the best. Arizona has its own Sonoran Dog named after the desert. Always recommend one when visiting southern Arizona.

I used to have two Hoffman red hots on Freihofer buns once a year at Heid's in Liverpool, NY.
Now that we're in Clayton NC, I don't know where to get a good "dog" :(
Mustard only. :D

Gotta go for the Bratwurst (pork and veal) and related Smokies. Here in hog farms country there’s no end to the variety of weenies available.
Nowadays, hot peppers rule in the bun,

Hebrew National are pricey and rare here, but those will do fine, and Nathan’s appear to be less expensive, but they too are also a rarity.

Of course you can always stuff a Ukrainian kielbasa German or Polish sausage into that bun. There’s plenty of those in the neighbourhood. Chilli dogs are everywhere; but, Mrs. FSB and I miss the (no longer on the gotta eat healthy menu) A&W whistle dogs with Canadian bacon, onions, mustard, relish, and cheese.

On the coast we had Cougar Hounds. A loaded burger topped with lengthwise sliced and grilled weiners for those who can’t decide whether to have a hot dog or a burgie.:P
