Does anyone ride? Whether it be Harley's, Sport bikes, Metric Cruisers, anything - Just curious if anyone else shares the thrill of the open road?

I rode in my teens.....but not since then. I've always wanted to buy another one......but there always seemed like there were other places for my money to go. I have the money to do it now, but at this point, I figure I'm older than dirt, and bones don't heal as fast.

I used to ride, but after my work accident and all my surgeries ( two major back surgeries and a total hip replacement) the Sportster sat in the garage collecting dust! So I dumped it. That was about eight years ago and I'm feeling somewhat better these days and getting the itch to ride again. Although the wife is against it. But ALL my buddies still ride. The drummer I used to play with bought a new Harley and is trying to talk me into buying his old one(a 95 black police special) :D Who knows, see what happens! By the way...my Sportster was "purple metalic", so that's why I bought the purple metalic am. std Strat.!

Been riding for a few years now. Started my street riding on 96 600 Shadow. Moved to a sportier 2002 Suzuki Vstrom. Lost it in a crash with some inattentive elderly Canadian tourists. Now have a 2003 BMW K1200LT cruising barge. Liked the Zuki best, but the electric windshield, heat, CD changer, and cruise control make it pretty good.

And ya'll can all go ahead and start ragging me about it now. I used to give those touring guys a hard time about all that, too. Til I rode one...

My advice to all is to get training. BE it a new rider, a "re-entry" rider whos hasn't ridden in years, or an experienced rider. Always be willing to learn more. It will save your life. And there are clases for all levels.

Randy

I had a `63 Harley chopped but got rid of it when some moron missed his exit on the parkway and decided to back up. I was doing 50 and had to lay the bike down so I wouldn`t go flying over his car. I rode it home and put it up for sale cause my younger brother had died in a weight lifting accident and this happened not long after that. Their too dangerous in the city, too much traffic and no one looks for or cares about bikers. So to all you die hards out there, watch for the other guy cause he`s not watching out for you.

Own 4 Harleys. 1969 Sportster XLH, 1969 Sportster XLCH, 1970 Sportster XLCH, & 1983 FXR. Guns, women, guitars, & women are my favorite hobbys/money pits.

I've owned several bikes... the last 2 were Harleys and my favorites.
A '73 FLH (Electraglide)

Nope. Temptation was there for a while, though.

Wife is a surgical nurse and there's a big rehab facility near us.

Just tears one's heart out to see over time, literally thousands of people in their teens to 60s, missing limbs, parts of limbs, parts of faces, or infinitely worse, para- or quadrepelegics.

Jeep's not as much fun as a Harley, but....

I had two dirt bikes growing and I owned a Harley Dyna until a few years ago but with traffic being what it is around here I just stop riding and sold it. Did just take my brother inlaws new Harley Custom Classic out for a short ride the other night and like it. But I cant talk myself into another. The reason he has a new one is that 2 monthe ago he was sitting at a traffic light in Ocean City when the light turned green he and my sister on the back went driving through the intersection and a 17 year old girl in the lane next to them tried to turn left onto the other street said she did not see them next to her. He said they were both going about 40 at the time my Sis an Him were thrown off the bike and the suv the girl was driving went right up onto his bike. Tow truck had to pick the suv up to get the bike out thankfully neither was on it. Both just bruise and batterd.

I had a purple metal flake '73 Harley Sportster XLCH back in the day. I haven't ridden since the early '80s.
