Just saw an article on Whereseric.com about a new Crashocaster sent to Eric Clapton by his friend John "Crash" Matos. There are rumours circulating across the Web stating that "Crash 4" will made her first debuts during the 6th Crossroads Festival held at American Airlines Centre (Dallas, TX) lately this month though I suppose Eric will bring his new axe onstage during his short US tour next week.

Here's a close-up from the body with the familiar PCB rout for the TBX/MDX circuitry:

From the site:

"As many people won’t have the opportunity to see the new Crashocaster up close, can you describe your vision and the themes behind it?

My vision is pretty simple, paint something that I think Eric would like. Nothing else, really. I usually use his initials, or something that he and I would only know about. Example, the second Strat I did for him, has a mix of his wife and daughter's names. He leaves me to my own devices, and it's worked...so far!!"

I’m digging it, Chromeface. Great additional info., Mike.

As long as Eric is healthy, I’ll be happy to hear him play anything.
Thanks, fellas.

Apparently he's sticking with his Aston Greenie and Mercedes Blue axes. We'll see if he finally decides to bring Crash 4 during the 6th CGF @ American Airlines Centre next week.

The first of the 3-night gigs @ SF Chase Centre has a special surprise for the encore: Carlos Santana joined Eric and his band for a blazing rendition of Joe Cocker's hit "High Time We Went".

The show didn't get good reviews.

Truth is Eric lost all his bursting energy because of the health problems he suffers since 2013. The 74-year Brit guitar supremo recovered from a gallstone surgery in 2009 which forced him to pull his guest appearance at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame extravaganza in NYC.

Well I was at the Phoenix concert last night and thought it was pretty good, except he messed up and the beginning of Badge, but nothing big. He played the almond green strat on all the electric stuff except Holy Mother, when he played the Mercedes Blue Strat.

Here's a review of that concert.

After many years on the road Eric seriously thinks about a definitive retirement from the scene as the Crossroads Guitar Fest will be his final appearance on stage.

When you say "rumours circulating", do you mean the posts that you've made on here? :D

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Crossroads Festival, especially as Eric is going to retire afterwards according to...

Yep, true! :P

He just brought Crash 4 to the public, trading licks with Peter Frampton for a blowing rendition of the Beatle classic "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"!

He just started announcing dates for 2020. So far they're all in Europe.

The 2020 Summer Tour ends with three shows in Russia. It also marks Eric's return in Italy for the first time since the Journeyman and 1992 world tours with stops at Milan and Bologna.

It remains unclear if Steve Gadd or Sonny Emory would occupy the drum section though it's possible Pedro Martinez assure the percussion as he wonderfully did during the CGF's 2nd night last week-end.

Not sure if Zucchero Fornaciari would join the band for the encores but he'll probably open the act during the performances in both cities.
