Brad:

I read a post somewhere, where I think you said that these Fender Forum T-shirts would be the "first issue" (maybe a collector's item). Anyway.. by making that statement......does that mean that afterwards, Fender will make it an ongoing item to buy, maybe a different color or something else? T-shirts tend to wear out after awhile, you know....and they look so good.......

Truthfully I've been intentionally ambiguous with the phrasing as I didn't want to lock us in to not being able to print them again should the need arise. While the notion of making these a one-time-only deal might seem cool now, it might *not* seem so cool 2 years from now when there are a ton of new members wanting shirts and/or when these initial shirts start wearing out on folks as you mentioned. So, long story short, we'll see how long it takes to sell out this first batch and then we'll take it from there.

So now that it has been over a week since they were available for purchase, can you divulge the sales numbers to date? If it seems low, maybe we "Loungers" could spark up some interest and get them moving.

We've sold just under 60 shirts thus far which is a GREAT response, but ... the honest truth is that we still have hundreds of 'em left in stock at this point. I would have made 100 total personally and sure enough, that would have been just about right -- but unfortunately we had to order in significantly larger quantities in order to get decent pricing on the shirts and make the project doable at all.

Anyway, I predict it'll take 7 to 8 months to sell through the majority of them and, quite frankly, that's A-OK -- the vast majority of shirts that we put out tend to take that long or longer to sell through and these don't take up THAT much space in our warehouse, after all. It does mean that our photo contest is going to be more of a longer-term thing than folks may be thinking -- but, again, that's OK too.

Looks like I'll have to buy a few more.

I'll be ordering at least 4 on Thursday or Friday - need to wait for some bill clearing to happen.

I'll probably buy some more. I hate putting too much on my credit card at one time. I only use a credit card in an emergency, or to make online purchases (I've always believed in paying cash, whenever possible.
). And....I have some online guitar purchases in my head, that I'll be doing, starting the first of the month. That drum throne, I posted about, and a Hercules mini guitar stand.
So.......since Brad has "hundreds"......I'll probably spread it out over the next few months.

But then........if this forum will be around for a while (after all....it's only been a year)........it just might be good for Fender to ALWAYS keep a few in stock, and the link to the T-shirts on the Forum section of the website, as more and more members join, and want one. The design has already be done, and once the "hundreds, and hundres" are gone.......it will be little problem to Fender to order some more. Think of all the people wearing those T-shirts at Guitar Center, concerts, and such places, with the web address showing on those T-shirts. I'm sure there might be one or two people who just might think to themselves, "Gee, I didn't know Fender also had a guitar forum. I'll have to check it out".

When winter comes around and I get my money for the driveway shoveling ( ) I'll definitely pick one up. Don't have much income now with football season taking up most of my time. Hopefully there's still some larges then
