the internet does not have the serial format, so I come here:

Fender Stratocaster
serial: US180**** on the back of the head stock
Fender made in the usa on the front of the headstock
neck plate: Fender Corona California
22 frets
11 screw pickguard
truss rod access at the headstock
6pt trem

the seller is an old man who is selling his recently deceased son's gear, therefore cannot answer questions on any of it.

Another "what is it" post with only the sparsest of descriptions and NO PICS.

Arjay is quite correct.
Without pics there is little that can be done.

There is no entry for US180**** in the product dating area however there is a pattern where US16 is 2016 American Vintage, US17 is 2017 American Vintage, etc.
I don't know enough about the American Vintage line to comment any further on that.

Your best bet for a speedy answer is to post detailed pics here so our knowledgeable people can examine them.
If that is not possible you can always contact Fender directly.
Provide them with the full serial number.
Within a few days they should be able to give you quite a bit of detail.
To contact Fender scroll to the bottom of this page and click on Contact Us.
The message area is on the right hand side.
They won't get back to you right away.
It will take several days.
Sometimes more.

If have neither the full serial number nor detailed pix then you are out of options.

I saw the Vintage serial... but the amount of digits doesn't match.

And the reason for no pics is simple. I figured you guys would be able to tell from the serial if it was real or not. Or, even, if the serial was real if the rest of the information matched.

but here goes:

First of all, a serial number doesn't guarantee anything. Fakers can use existing numbers, and some (actually, quite many) completely legit numbers aren't in the database.

On the guitar, it's not a US made Fender. Run away.

The "number of digits" can change from year to year.
As for the serial number alone being enough to make a determination, I don't know how you could have come to that conclusion.
The clues to determine fakes are part of a jigsaw puzzle and the serial number is but one piece and even that piece still requires a pic.
The number could have the wrong font or be arranged incorrectly or be in the wrong location.

The pics reveal some red flags.
The rear cover is suspect, as are the tuning machines.
The placement of the Fender logo raises an eyebrow as well.
I agree with jmattis.
Run, don't walk.
