Check out Warner Bros. fairly new web site, because sound matters.com

and blind Pig has been re-releasing vinyl and some never offered on vinyl lp's too.

I bought the new Tommy Castro on Vinyl and am lovin it, I bought my wife all of her John Mayer stuff on vinyl.

The list could go on forever, My stack of 45's gets bigger after every garage sale I stop by.

From the LA times recently:
According to the Recording Industry Assn., shipments of vinyl soared 36.6% from 2006 to 2007. That amounts to 1.3 million units nationwide

Isn't preferring vinyl a lot like preferring tubes?

Back in the day, our turntables were connected to big tube amplifiers and big speakers.

Those who yearn for Vinyl are missing the big picture.

I'll bet you a crappy CD player would sound awesome through an old tube amp with great speakers.

USB turntable? To play through a computer into computer speakers?
or better yet, to convert to MP3?

Funny!

Welp,

Looks like I need to get a new needle for the old Technic!!! Something told me to now throw that turntable away. I paid like $400 for it in 1980!!

Man I wish I was back in the states to go to tag sales!!! THere is nothing like digging through a box of old records!!!

All my vinyl albums (around 300) were melted in a fire back in the late 80's :(
I see a couple of the more unusual ones I had selling for 200$-300$ on ebay now.

And I do think even with all the snaps and pops they sounded better than the CD's, which I ended up replacing most of the albums on.
The CD's always sounded to me like they were missing both the high and low ends like they were clipped and flattened to make more room on the disk.

I've been slowly switching to DVD-audio, that do sound better than the CD's,

I never could stand to listen to the highly clipped squashed and compressed MP3's, they are really convenient where you can fit a gazillion of them on a mp3 player or ipod.
But GiGo applies.

Then again sound is a subjective thing, if all you have ever listen to is mp3 from speakers plugged into a computer or earbuds instead of a real sound system then that is what will feel normal for you.

I still own 4 ceramic 78's of Beny Godman, :) but that is a whole other ball game,
