Anyone else sick of these parody movies? I saw a preview for Disaster Movie today and I wanted to vomit from the sheer amount of crap I saw in thirty seconds. They all seem to use the EXACT SAME jokes and have no plot (or amusing jokes for that matter).

How are these still making money? It may just be me, but why would you waste the $8 for a ticket and gas money to see a movie that is extremely bland and unoriginal?

This really isn't music related, but there are some music figures in the movie. Just discuss and maybe reassure me that I'm not crazy. I saw it during our break at football and 1/2 the team was laughing like the movie was a God-send. (sorry for the rant   )

Yeah, it seems to me that type of movie has turned into a franchise, the visual equivalent of Mad Magazine. The best parodies don't have sequels. Like 'This Is Spinal Tap', for instance. The Rutles 'All You Need Is Cash' had a sequel, and I thought the sequel was nowhere near as good as the first.

Quite possibly all the parodies have relation to alcohol abuse in and around entertainment (the movie people). I can only imagine some movie promoter sitting in a club somewhere and telling some exec "it's funny... come on... it's got all the stuff to make it a hit!" Man.... most of those are unrealistic and lame. Enough.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but haven't there been at least 2 other movies in "Disaster Movie's" likeness? I've seen the previews for them, they just don't look too appealing to me...

However, THIS is real entertainment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1LG_R9j2sw

i know what you're saying... and quite frankly its disgusting. the entertainment industry is simply ruining the general public's perception of awesome movies...

for instance... as if meet the spartans wasn't enough... i saw the other day in blockbuster that there was another parody of 300... 305.

seriously... hollywood... LEAVE OUR MOVIES ALONE!!!!

not only is it idiotic and tacky, but its completely mindless... and people are wondering why standardized test scores are going down. if this is what today's youth has to teach them about society, history, etc... then why should people even be expected to read and write before age 13??? i know i'm exaggerating... but seriously... think about the things that you watched on tv when you were younger and then compare them to the likes of today. its simply horrifying and it needs to be stopped.

I rarely watch those type of movies. Actually, I rarely go to the movies at all. I wait until they're out on DVD. I have a surround system that sounds much better than the theater, plus the theater is usually breaking my eardrums with the volume. Besides the high costs of going to the theater nowadays.

The first Scary Movie was alright, but the quality has gone down and down. As mentioned, a couple friends were watching Meet the Spartans and I had to leave 10 minutes into the movie it was so bad. They usually put the "best" jokes in the commercial and the rest is even worse than those jokes.

Actually, my entire hate of these movies is summed up in one of my blogs (http://kylesmiach.blogspot.com/2008/06/ ... movie.html). That works better than posting it all here. (Note: it's a bit vulgar just so you're not surprised)

They tend to sum up pop culture and movies from the last year with some physical humor and whatnot. Typically the same flormula each time.

Movies like "Airplane" are classic parody movies that will always be favorites of mine. I just think they're going overboard with what they consider parody these days.
