Having never been to Europe, I had to check out the building.

"The roof terrace and dome of the Reichstag Building can be visited by members of the public, and offer spectacular views of the parliamentary and government district and Berlin’s sights."

It's a beautiful building and there is so much history in Berlin. One of my grandfathers was born there.

Outdoor show for the Summer Series Concerts and it was very hot and humid. It was a fill-in gig
with a band that did a lot of 60s tunes. About 100-150 attended. I used a small amp for a stage
monitor but everything went through the PA. It was a lot of fun.

Blurry pic, I know.
Phone pic, steamy room, maybe not the steadiest of hand.

Yesterday in the hardware store I happened to walk past a pegboard holding short length of chrome pipe with connections on both ends and I did not recognize it but it did catch my attention.
I picked it up out of curiosity.
When I saw it was a shower head swing arm, it still did not connect in my brain.
I just kind of shrugged my shoulders thinking it was another useless woman product I will never understand or need.
I was walking out of the store when the light bulb turned on and I realized what this device was intended for.
I immediately went back in and bought it and came home and installed it.
This morning was my first time using it.
It put a smile on my face.

My entire life I have had to duck down in the shower to get spray on my head.
Not this morning.
Funny how the little things sometimes make a difference in your day.
That's one fewer of life's little every day annoyances that confronts me.
Even now, a half hour later I still have this idiotic grin on my face.
I've decided I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for more opportunities to eliminate small annoyances.

Are you tall or was your shower head very low?

At any rate, beats paying a plumber to install a new higher shower head.

I'm 5' - 11".
I think my shower installation is normal.
Normal is centre of pipe is 6 feet from floor during construction phase.
That's what it is here anyway, unless the owner specifies something else at the time of construction.
Years ago when I worked for a short time for a house builder contractor in my 20s the plumbers always used 6 feet from floor as their standard.
I had a discussion with one of the plumbers about it one time and he agreed the standard was too low for most men by the time the shower was complete.
The tub or shower enclosure raises the effective floor that you stand on by about an inch from the actual wood floor that the plumber would have measured from.
I guess it might be less if the floor is ceramic tile.
The discharge pipe bends down so threaded end reaches down another 2 inches.
Shower head connected to that extends down another 2 - 3 inches.
You end up with discharge nozzles roughly 5' - 6" from the standing surface.
I have to bend down to get water on the top of my head.
I learn to bend a little lower to ensure I don't bump my head on the shower head or have my head so close to the nozzles that water splashes up and over the door/curtain.

I just went and measured.
It looks like the head was definitely at 5' - 6" and it is now at 6' - 1".
The normal height is perfect for the average woman of 5' - 4" to 5' - 6" which is likely why not enough complaints are ever made to warrant a change to the industry standard.
Men just don't complain about these things.
I didn't complain either but now that I have a solution I am happy as a pig in shyte.

I like the way you can adjust that. Like the 2nd picture down on the left here :

Ya never know where the Beach Boys will show up. Looks like a lot of Fun, Fun, Fun, Mike. :D

And Matt . . .That looks like a perfect shower addition. That would get me into trouble with my better half, though. I'd be able to find more angles to splash water on the floor. :P

Yes.
On mine there are detents.
You back off on the wingnut and then push and turn.
It moves by notches.
It's not infinitely variable and you don't adjust it on the fly.
It's not a friction fit.
There must be matching sawtooth faces in there or something.
Both ends adjust the same way.

I found a pic that is over 25 years old and still gives me a grin a mile wide.

Image

These two pics were taken at about 5:30 AM after a long night of drinking.
Everyone else is sound asleep.
There were at least 20 people in our group, camping out in the bush near the Alberta sand dunes area just outside the Jasper National Park at a place called Brule Lake.
Brule Lake is nothing.
You'd miss it altogether if you blinked when you drove past and even then, driving past is something you'd likely not do as it is WELL off the beaten path.
It's a little like Glamis in California.
A tiny little place you can barely find on a map but a big draw for dirt bikers because of the dunes.
Unlike Mojave dunes though, Alberta dunes have hidden sink-holes for added risk. LOL
I think it's because the sand is much finer than Mojave sand and it is mixed with a powdered form of clay which can stiffen up with a rain but that stiffness has no real strength.
You can be riding along and find yourself dropping into a void.
Keeping your speed up is best because the voids are usually not very big.
They only form under certain special conditions and they are usually all exposed and collapsed by mid morning on a Saturday.

Anyway, back to the story.
This was in the wee hours of a Sunday morning after a Saturday of hard riding.
The group of folks drinking around the fire had pretty much come to an end by about 2:30 AM but my friend Mark and I stayed up and kept going.
To make matters worse he pulled out a bag of shrooms after everyone had gone to bed.
Suffice to say we were crispy fried to a crackly crunch.
We got to talking about our buddy Maurice and his bravado and his swagger and his constant bragging and his competitiveness on the trails.
He would risk his life by taking a dangerous chance if he though he could block you from getting in front of him.
Mark got the idea that we should relieve ourselves on his bike so that's what we did.
My camera was on the picnic table so we took pics for posterity.
These pics remain a source of amusement to this day for all of us.
I hope you enjoy them.

PS - I am the strong stocky guy with the pony tail, the Oakleys and the strong steam. Mark is the skinny, fragile Dutchman with the little pecker and a urine stream so fine it doesn't even show up on these pics. All our friends laughed when he insisted that yes, he was actually peeing in this pic. Good thing he can take some ribbing.
I'm so glad he's not a member here, even though he does play guitar.
He'd kill me if he knew I posted this pic.
