I guess that I look pretty normal for someone fighting cancer. The hair is gray and thinning, the beard is trimmed (kinda) and the ponytail is history.

No more ponytail?!?! Say it ain't so!!!

I'm keeping mine till I'm bald on top and it looks ridiculous.

I cut my ponytail off every 3 or 4 years and donate it here:

Every two years I sent them one foot of ponytail. Been doing it since I had cancer in 2000. Feels like I'm giving back in a way. Any of you guys out there with long hair, it's a good cause. Someone going thru chemo can have a free wig.

Good job! Anybody out there with 8" of hair or more to spare should look into it!!!

It's funny... I know people that grew their hair long because they were musicians. I'm learning to become a musician because everyone assumes that I am one because of my long hair. (And I always wanted to learn too.)

I regret I cannot contribute. Many years ago I had hair down to my shoulders and parted in the middle. I'm a little thin on top now. If I tried that today, I would look like Ben Franklin on the $100 bill.

Ben's still on the C-note, right? It's been a while since I've seen one.

I dress with a tee and shorts during warmer weather, and a shirt and sweatpants during colder weather. BUt i try not to look nerdy or dorky lol j/k.

My friend tells me that i should only 'play the guitar when people are actually there with me.' BTW, she bought a guitar once, just to give it back. NO joke. SHe was like 8 or something.

I mean i don't like to stereotype at all. Although one kid i know has long hair and he plays an SG. People who play guitar look normal. WHen will people undertsand that?

As soon as they stop reading people magazine

When i look at myself i don't even look similar to a guitar player. Everyone has their own style. I just think that rock n roll guitarists dress a certain way because they like it, not because it is accepted as the norm.

I don't know what "normal" would be. I guess it's your personallity combined with what hobbies & music your into.

I'm 14. I don't care about designer stuff or what the latest fad is. I just go around wearing band & tour shirts (mostly the Beatles) and jeans.

Maybe long hair is "normal" for electric guitar players. Of course there are guys with short hair, but I think there's probably 2 long hair guys for every short hair guy. Just a thought.

I've got long hair 'cause I'm a Beatles fan. Not real long, though. You could probably match my style with the "Rubber Soul" - "Revolver" years (1965 - 1966). I'm going for the Paul/Ringo "Abbey Road" or Paul/Ringo/George "Let It Be" look. Why? Just 'cause!
