Howdy,

New here, but have made a few posts on the Amplifier forum. But now I feel legit and am honored to be the proud owner of my first Fender guitar, and it's a Stratocaster.

Have a new American Deluxe in Olympic White Pearl on the way. Shipped out today from a gentleman in KC (not MF either, although we've done quite a bit of business).

Would rather not buy a guitar without first playing it, but I'm kind of in the sticks, a hundred miles from a real city, and so far I've had very good luck doing just that.

It's not brand new, but was purchased then returned, with a scratch on the pickguard. Gentleman assures me that's the only flaw, and I can return it if not satisfied for any reason, and he'll pay to have it shipped back. Got a real good deal on it too. Was thinking of changing out the pickguard to a 3 ply white/black/white anyway.

Took lessons for a couple years at 10-11 and have had a guitar of some sort most of the time since. only a couple Taylors for the last 9 or 10, a beautiful 310 and a baby for my Son. But I never really applied myself.

All that changed at the end of last January. Have geared up pretty well and am just having a ball. Think I'm done buying stuff for a while.

Not to come off as a braggart, but simply to complete the intro and perhaps show that I'm a bit serious, here's a list of my new friends and loves, and a link to a pic that needs updating. Once the new Pearl and Blues Jr. arrrive, I'll take one more shot and toss that up.

DaFreeze! Welcome! And congrats on your new purchases! Its those jittery nervous excitable moments when you are anticipating the arrival of your new axe that can be the best and worst all at the same time! I can't wait to see the pictures!

Thank-you all for the greeting and congrat. Thrilled to be here.

Even more thrilled to give you a reason to congrat me. Strat'll arrive Thur, if I'm home to sigh for it. (Work @3p and I let 'em know). But I've the next day off.

I know what you mean, I'm still waiting for my 5 string to show up too.

I'm lucky. My Fedex driver lives down the block from me. Whenever I get something that looks like it's musical and I'm not home, she takes it home for me and I'll pick it up from her later. I know it's against the rules, but it's great service anyway.
