And I don't mean selling or getting rid of!
Will be moving out of state soon, hiring a moving company.
Although I only own a fistful of guitars compared to some of you that own truckloads, what do you think is the best way to haul your stuff like guitars in cases and amplifiers.
The mover who has been hauling for 90 plus years, no joke, says he can handle the equipment with no problems.
If it were up to me, I would load and haul the stuff myself in my own vehicle.
However, there will be absolutely no room in the cab of my pickup and I would feel uncomfortable loading into the bed of the truck.
Anybody face this issue? How did you handle it.
By the way, the distance is 650 miles.

if it is a smaller scale well respected mover I might let him move some of my stuff.
my preference would be to make a separate trip if I had to and haul my guitars and amps. when I moved to FL a few years back I left guitars and motorcycles in WI until I could come back and get them.

no matter how good the co is your stuff will not be as dear to him as it is to you.

that being said, I mean bands are hauling stuff around all the time in cargo trailers etc. if they are in good cases, they would probably be fine.

For the three pieces of gear you mention (two guitars, one amp), rent a small U-Haul trailer and transport it yourself.

I know a guy in NYC that will do it by Uber SUV.

Thanks for your advice.
I called the mover dude and he said not to worry he’s moved many musicians before. He has a good reputation and was suggested to me by our lawyer.
He says he understands how we baby our stuff.

Thank you for the suggestion.
Yeah I only have two fenders (and a Fender amp) but I have others and a 6 pc. drum set to boot.
Hauling a cargo van was the next move if I didn’t want the mover handling my gear.
Cheers!

I would just pack them as if I was shipping them FedEx or UPS. It does sound like the mover knows how to do the rest.
