I think operating it instantly makes you a hobo lol. Yeah the original version they would just cook using the metal on the bottom of the can as the "pan". You can toss it out instead of attempting to clean it.

That’s prolly how, amongst poor struggling songwriters, they got the name ‘Tin Pan Alley’ 8)

Thought you might like a new recipe or menu choice or challenge on your next trip:

I’ve never never cooked snake or eaten it and don’t care to (although, I’ve eaten insects and other strange things). My father, however, had. He said it was okay with reference to chicken.

It looks to be similar to skinning and eating eels. My problem is that the first and last reptile I ate (frog), out of politeness, gave me restless nightmares afterwards. Knowing that rattlers often eat mice and rats or other snakes that may have the same diet, I’ll pass, thanks. But, don’t Let me stop you. YMMV.

Mmm. Fried Plantains is something I haven’t tried; but, it interests me and we’ve talked about trying it. I’ll add it to the bucket list. :D

Anyone make paella? First time I had it was at a wedding and I am hooked. Never tried to cook paella but it seems like more of a method than a specific recipe. This was not the wedding but man that one looks killer.

I have yet to make Paella. The closest I get is Jambalaya. I have made Paella from a mix. I'm sure I could figure it out.

This is a very cool thread!

I love cooking and eating good foods, though my cooking skills aren't exactly wide.

Let's say I can prepare several kinds of Italian sauces for pasta, make my own burgers and do a lot of steak variations.

We eat lots of Picanha cuts here, some of which imported from the US, Australia and Argentina.

Here's a few pics of a steak I made with a salt/pepper/brown sugar/activated coal rub...

That Steak looks so good.

So a couple of days ago, Friday, I think. Yes, Friday.
I bought me a new cookin' toy.
A Traeger Tailgater smoker and I've smoked every night except one since I got it.
Oh, my .....
I'm hooked.

Sounds good. My client has a smoker that gets used quite a bit in the summer. Unfortunately I have no place to keep a grill or smoker.

I didn’t know what picanha was (sounds like piranha also found in Brazil)
Thanks, Sergio for clarifying that. Yours looks great. Nice job. Not only do I know now; but, because we celebrate over 80 ethnic groups here with a 2 week long festival, I thought I might get it here in Winnipeg. Yup!

The cool thing is we have a gift card to try it out. :D
Enjoy that smoker, Matt. Great choice. Never saw the tailgater version before. Very cool. 8)
Tried making paella once a long time ago. Kinda blew it, but then I found out they make a paella pan which I didn’t have so I blame that.

It's the perfect size for a single guy who might possibly want to take it with him to the beach or the campground or even just to a buddy's place.

That’s what I like about it. Not as small as a hibachi, but still manageable, Happy cooking, bro’.
