I had an SUV in the 90s that could handle most everything, and yes, looking from a higher advantage is definitely beneficial especially passing on a highway loaded with semis.

I rented a brand new one in April while visiting Vancouver. This one was like an oversized two door Lotus sports car with all the gadgets; but, blind spots were presented in the back even with the camera depending on the angle of approach. The good thing about auto design today is they all look the same or similar. The bad thing is they all look the same or similar. Looks great on the outside, looks like a cube van on the inside, and I have experience with backing up 40 foot motor homes. The plethora of the latest features were mind boggling, awesome, and cool for highway driving as we didn’t get full value with a big city population, stop lights, lane changing, off ramps, and bridges in the inconsistent fast above speed limit traffic race. I appreciated the safety features though when you could use them, especially the blind spot detection on the road which I think is one of the best useful features. Even GPS is iffy at times. I can and do choose a variety of GPS and map
programs with the cellphone. Speaking of safety features it came with big ugly stickers on both sun visors that warned of possible rollover of the sweet looking vehicle!? That may impress the passenger, but not me. This is one reason I sadly declined the small hip Jeep for a longer and wider SUV. I know the dangers of old Navy Jeeps from guys that aren’t here to tell of it (they had a tendency to barrel roll end over end). That said, a properly built Jeep is unlike many others. Also, cool available accessories are an additional consideration . . . unless you find them to be a future necessity to make up for a poor design or feature that came stock. That’s why I suggest if you are looking at new, check out old. Most dealers will remove those from view for a reason,

I don’t think I’d buy most new SUVs for where I used to go fishing, but maybe for grocery shopping down the street. I know B.C.’s mountainous Coquihalla highway to Hell (same as on the TV) devours SUVs like a wrecking yard crusher. I’ve seen them up close.

Actually, while SUVs vary, so do the drivers. To manoeuvre an SUV in difficult circumstances it takes a little knowledge that is unlike driving a car. Of course, if it is like a car you shouldn’t expect to treat it like a truck. One also shouldn’t try to drive a heavy vehicle like a small car. There should be stickers for that. I need stickers so I don’t overload my car to blow the tires.

If you are serious about 4x4s, off/roading, or just using it for city or neighbourhood driving, you could pick up an off-road 4x4 magazine (or online) to see what you can or can’t do, or whether you can, need, or desire to improve the vehicle with additional features like skid plates or other things. As for those beefy cow catcher push bars, I had one out of necessity and looks. Just be aware that they add weight to the suspension and the tires, they create more alignment adjustments, and they alter acceleration, stopping distance, and gas mileage. Custom wheels on all vehicles can also have issues if they’re not the right choice, but that’s another story.

(Tip: If you haven’t bought that truck and trailer yet, choose the trailer first so you buy enough truck, but save by not buying more truck than you need. A lot of buyers make those mistakes).

One last tip; Never buy an electric SUV for off-roading.

One man’s review, but YMMV.

Enjoy your choice. It’s as good as you want it to be. 8) Lemme see. . . A Bugatti SUV would be nice.

A beauty T2. I ordered a new 70's Charger (white interior) that was similar to that colour. It went missing and got sold halfway across the country after I paid for and special ordered it long story short. Is that called Electric Blue ? Nice!

TIA

Tesla Model S P85D. First car I've ever fallen in love with, and I've enjoyed some nice rides! All wheel drive "performance model. Will do 0-100KPH in 3.1 seconds! Silently. Without gas. Been driving it for 2 years without any service whatsoever. 8)

Thanks. I would be super P.O.'d if they sold my special order. This actually was a special order and the color is Called Laguna Blue Metallic. All the Blue colors for Corvettes are named after famous race tracks, in this case Laguna Secca. All three of my corvettes have been blues. My first was a 97 in Nassau, a similar color to this one, but a bit lighter, and my '05 was Lemans Blue, which was almost a navy blue. I was at a crusie in a couple weeks ago and was parked next to a Challenger in a very similar blue, I forget what the color was called.

Thanks, for the reply. Yes, I was more than PO'd. I was a young 20 year old, and foolish to have paid full price at the time of order to ensure delivery. While I thought that to be the case, but because I negotiated a screaming deal, with a popular Cougar XR7 in my cross hairs, I guess someone had seen it (I never did) and the rest of the story is history since colours were, as you know, in a given run of production. The sad part was I set my goal, hoofed it and took buses for two years to save up the money. I was going for a Challenger, but the wife preferred the Charger. My mistake. Challenger also came in Electric Blue, but I can't say if that is like the one you saw. Regardless, you have great taste. Later, I came so very close to grabbing a '58 Vette from a customer of my wife. Waaah. Just as well. Around here respect for others cars are less than respectful when near parking lots. It's like getting hit by friendly fire, a door, a wayward shopping cart, or in my case, a runaway car.

Gotta love that Relic G Man, My buddy's son has a similar convertible in red. These late model Mustangs are reported to be some of the best Mustangs made. Considering the classic ones would have the floorboards and trunk rot from under you I have no doubt the rumours are true. From where I used to live there is a 29 year old company called Classic Mustang. Needless to say there are plenty of them. I looked at a rebuilt '66 (I liked the gauges which the 64/65 and 67 didn't have). The one I saw had a Pony package interior with the mustang on all the leather seats and elsewhere (similar to Shelby's snake which came afterwards). Do you know if a similar Pony package exists on the newer 'stangs?. You have a cool horse there, and I like the colour.
Cheers,

No thanks required, Relic G Man. I appreciate the reply. It’s great to still see American iconic cars like you and T2 have on the road these days with their improvements, I don’t know how much longer they will survive the cut in their present form; but, I do know collectors, fans, and car clubs speak with a loud voice that has some influence, until that loud voice becomes a whisper with technology and generations. One advantage about iconic cars is that after market support is wide spread with some decent longevity.
Say hi to Smokey for me.

I like to think my car fits into that category, maybe not as popular or cool as a Mustang or 'Vette but these were original American "muscle cars". Yeah the Impala is a 6 cyl now, but so are a lot of those Mustangs.

I can surely relate to the cherry ‘63 Chevy you have, Ghost, Great looking car and a great car. Reminds me of my old 2dr HT ‘64 Parisienne (colour and many other similarities). But, what really brings me back to it is that a friend had a new ‘64 White SS that I admired, I moved away many years later, needed a second vehicle for me or my wife, and decided to look for a project. What I found was a ‘64 SS in white with, what I was led to believe, Strato bucket seats that swiveled. I know the Stratos were thinner and came out in ‘64/‘65. I might have been still sitting in them had the test drive car not been towed back to the dealer for an engine failure, and a tough negotiation for a much needed project. :? I had lots of experience with ‘64 GM dash light and fuse replacement on my weekend mechanic shifts so I was up to the task of working out the details.
As I said before, your car looks super clean and very nice.

As for the 2017, my wife’s cousin drove two provinces away a few months ago bought and drove the same back. Pretty slick.
