Can anybody explain to me what this means to the real world? I keep seeing ads for "Fender licensed" replacement parts and such. I bought a "Fender licensed" neck for my Jazz bass from Warmoth. If I got this neck as a replacement for my damaged Fender neck, I'd be really pi**ed! I was just wondering what criteria is involved to produce a "Fender licensed" product, or what Fender has to do with it at all. Thanks, Tim

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess it means that it was either created by Fender or meant specificly for Fender products. But that's just my guess. :D

I get the impression from replacement part sites that it means they have paid a fee and Fender has verified that the parts are built to their specs. Also, I don't think the headstock can be the Fender shape if it's not from a licensed source.

It means Fender doesn't think it's complete junk.

I believe that bluesgrass is most correct about this.

All it means is that those outside companies are paying Fender a licensing fee in order to make necks using Fender's proprietary headstock shapes.
