It's based on the number of posts that you have. Go play the song game for a couple of hours. :)

you make it seem like your mad at us...

CHART:
100 posts gives you Amature
200 gives you Roadie
I think 300 gives you Aspireing Musician
1,000 gives you Professional Musician
3,000 gives you Rock Star
and something comes after Rock Star... dunno what...

So it works on how many posts. I didn't know how it worked.
I just felt slighted because I have been playing professionally since the mid sixies. I have been a guitar saleman and guitar repairman for several music stores. I like reading and answering questions in the Forum but I have limited time. I am always organizing gigs as well as working on my equipment, buying new gear etc. etc. but I enjoy the forums when I get the chance.

Understood that you don't want to be thrown in with all the 14 year olds. As long as you offer good advice, people will respect your opinions here. Just don't post anything about how "the Jonas Brothers will never be as sick as Slayer"...

Don't feel bad - only to this site is all of that not relevant - the ranking only counts posts.

As far as I go - I'm posting at the rate of just a little over 4 per day - but I've been doing it since the site opened. So yes, I have a "nice" title - but it doesn't make me a better player - some would argue that the more posts the worse you might be - for not taking the time to practice and play.

I myself am a re-beginner - learned to play 35 years ago - stopped after 1 year or so because life got in the way - and now that I'm retired, I have lots of time to re-learn. I'm having a blast - I share with others what I've learned or know and I learn from others by reading and listening.

Ya, I play the song game, but it's not why I'm on this site.

Gil, the retired re-beginner  8)

(edited to fix the spelling ...)
