Thanks, for posting riddler. Good on ya Ghost for the information. If you’ve had a guitar for decades you likely have heard of or discovered or will receive fake strings at some time. Perhaps, my drumsticks are fake too. They often break with little use. :P
Just think of how those counterfeit strings could create a mess of your guitar or present a danger. Hmm. I wonder if similar fraudulent strings caused my studio grand piano playing to always be off key.
Chuck Schumer with those bogus strings? I guess that’s fake news.

Careful, FSB, or we're liable to get more crocodile tears from Cryin' Chuck.

 Yeah, but surely y’all know (as Chucky knows), ‘the show must go on’, and ‘always leave the audience crying for more’. ‘All the world’s a stage’, and to level the playing field, just a tweet away. Of course in this country, with a little bending of the facts, we get strung along too. :P
Gotta give D’Addario kudos for coming through for theriddler. I wondered if nylon/classical strings have this counterfeit problem too, and I found that they do. Older classical strings were made of gut and silk and may have been more or less likely to have been faked. Every manufacturer, distributor, and customer is susceptible to this crime as well as D’Addario.
