I am now the proud owner of an American Deluxe Stratocaster® FMT HSS!
Click here & check out some pics...
In my owners manual I found an insert. ...my Owner's Registration form.
It says you can register online here: www.fender.com/prodreg/
I am going to register, but it made me curious to know what you would do.

So that's the question...
To register or not to register your Fender? Why or why not?

I have registerd 6 Fenders in the last two years and have another that I gave to my Son to do. I always do it for warranty reasons.

I don't know why you would not register it. There are no negative aspects related to registering a Fender product that I am aware of. I register all of mine.

I'm starting to regret trading in my Strat for a Jackson DKMG more and more. Even though the Jackson does sound better than the MiM Strat...too bad I can't register my Jackson, it IS a product of Fender after all.

I registered all of mine, but I'm not exactly sure of the purpose, either. I think it's to collect market research data because not registering doesn't affect your warranty as far as I know . . . as long as you have a sales receipt or invoice.

When you register it you are showing that you bought it from a Fender Dealer and that you are the original owner the limited lifetime waranty is only good to the original owner not any one you may sell to. And if you sell a guitar that has not been registerd they still can not do so because they will not have the needed information you are asked for doing such as dealer name , location, price , and date of purchace. So my thought is it is best to register.

Just so we're all clear on this warranty thing . . .

Just go ahead and register it...

As far as warranties...read the fine print, anyone who uses anything other than Fender strings pretty much has voided their warranty (unless they changed the warranty fine print recently  ).
