The first guitar I ever played was a classical acoustic that my mom had, don't remember the brand. My dad had a late Seventies Gibson Melody Maker double cut that I also played from time to time. In college I purchased a cheap Squire II Strat for horsing around on, and later purchased a Squier acoustic. Now that I've finally taken guitar seriously, I purchased a Baja Telecaster, as that seemed to be the best guitar I could get for the money I had to spend. I've found that having a good guitar makes you want to play more.

First was a Student sized Global Acoustic from Sears (Still HAve)
My first Full Size Acoustic was an all Mahagony Harmony from Sears (Stolen From Camp Ground while I was Asleep  )

Now I have:
Fender '88 MIA Olympic White Stratocaster/w Kahler Spyder Tremelo
Fender '04 MIM Saphire Blue Deluxe Players Stratocaster
Fender '05 MIM Red and White Polka Dot Buddy Guy Stratocaster
Fender yy? Black FR-50 Resonator
Gibson '95 Heritage Cherry Nighthawk
Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor Regent II Hollow Body
Epiphone Gold Flake MandoBird
Epihone Amber Burst MM-30E A-Style Mandolin
Aida Antique Burst F-Style Mandolin
Squire MIJ P-Bass (not mine yet, but I'm borrowing it)
Ibanez '80's Flying V(if Ibanez had fender quality support, I could find out what year it is)

I think that's it, except for assorted Tamborines, Egg Shakers, Clave, Tri Angles, Tone Blocks, and my Honer Mini Harmonica

First was fake "Yamaha", made in USSR.
Last (til now) is Takamine EG 360 Acoustic.
Best is CS '56 CC Strat, sunburst.

All the best!

My first?
A cheap acoustic of the sort I once heard called a waste of good plywood.
I forget the brand.
I sold it years ago, no regrets.

My first decent guitar was a MIJ student model classical--still have it, still play it.
Now--more than one. I try not to favour one too much.

Haha, actually since I posted that I sold one (the sunburst DeArmond M-72). Now, by my count, I make it 18 electrics, 2 basses, and 2 acoustics.

I've been playing for a long time and have been in a lot of bands and played in church for about 10 years as well. I know several people who have lots more than I!

First: was a walmart first act acoustic with painfully high action (still have and play occasionally)

Second: is my deluxe players strat in the semi-transparent blue (still have and will never get rid of)

Third: 12 string sigma acoustic (play all the time)

Fourth: currently building, it's a sunburst body with maple/rosewood neck (have not yet bought the neck) , texas special pickups and all gold hardware

1st guitar was a POS dreadnought my peeps bought me at Montgomery Wards. The strings were so high off the fretboard it was a complete nightmare once I learned a few bar chords. My sister bought a little nylon string guitar the same day and it lasted for about 30 years longer than mine. I called hers the "indestructible" because I it took alot of abuse and kept going and going until my brother-in-law left it in the rain for a week. That pretty much killed it.

Now I have a few good instruments including a couple of Fender stratocasters. The newest is an EJ signature and it is the best guitar I've ever played, much less owned.

My first guitar was a Harmony acoustic my grandfather gave me. It had action more suited to a pedal steel.
My current guitar is an SX Strat copy with a Mighty Mite pre-wired pickguard.
Of course there are a few more, but the SX is my #1 right now. That is until I get the money saved to make the jump to an actual Strat.

I still have my first guitar....although it wasn't all THAT long ago that i got it. Technically it was this acoustic that was just like $100 and it was really really aweful!!! I don't think i've ever changed the strings either...just cause I never play it! So I don't usually count that, but my first "real" guitar is my Blue Agave (agave blue???) '04 MIM strat!!!
