Of course! Being on this forum has bought back so many memories of my first Fender Strat that I had. But it was lemon yellow and I outgrew the color, so I sold it.

Anyway, I decided to go with a Stratacaster HSS Midinight Wine with Rosewood Neck. Should be here this week. I swore I'd never buy another guitar online, but knowing Fender's reputation, I am chancing it.

First guitar was a Decca flat top (still have it 45+ years later). Current guitars are a small collection of Gibson's and a Fender Stratocaster.

^welcome and to Barry, sounds nice... with most guitars, i wouldn't buy online, i like to know that the guitar plays well, but with fenders, you can pretty much guaruntee a great playing guitar, if not most sites do have return periods where you can exchange it

Wow man, I haven't seen a Decca guitar in decades. Got a Silvertone amp to go with that??

Actually my first amp was a Kustom with the thick pleated padding. That was a great sounding amp. Played through that with my first electric which was a Mayfair Deluxe. I had to beg my parents for over a year before they would spring for that one. I had to agree to buying my own amp which was a deal for me!
SOOO ...
Since I had to save up for over a year, I did borrow a Silvertone amp on and off until I could afford that Kustom!

Yea, I checked out return policies thouroughly before I did this. I mentioned in another thread that I would not ever purchase a guitar online again, but, I had a Fender Strat before and know it's quality. Hopefully this new Strat will continue to prove Fender's reliability when it comes to a quality made guitar.

My first guitar was a no name frankenstein piece of junk but I played 4 hours a day on that bad boy and not only learned how to play guitar, I also learned how to repair them as well. Now I have a PRS Custom 24 with artist package, a Gibson Les Paul custom with EMG 81/85, a Schecter S1 Blackjack, a Fernandes strat style with Fender Texas Specials wired in cloth covered wire, and my latest addition is my Fender custom spalted maple HH tele. The tele is just gorgeous and plays very well.

My 1st guitar was a "Prestige" acoustic made in Japan back when that was a bad thing. Got it on Christmas Day 1967. Got my 1st Fender in 1971, a sunburst Mustang that I sold a few years later for college money. I will never get over that.

Today, I've got a bunch, but my current fav is a second hand Hwy1 Strat with the p/ups changed out by the 1st owner. I don't know what they are, but they're warmer than my Amer Series Strat and the middle one is rw/rp !!!
