Over the past month or so I've made a few posts related to my need for a new amplifier. The old one just did not have the sound quality and playing quality I wanted. My old amp would have ear-splitting highs and almost non-existent lows. This made my playing rather frustrating. My other problem was that I wanted to be able to play in my house quietly, so I would not disturb my family. Related to this I did not want to use headphones any more than necessary because of the danger to the ears when using them.

After quite a bit of advice and research I finally bought a Roland Cube 30x. This is wonderful. Just what I wanted. I have control over high, mid, and low. The amp models are good. There is a wonderful feature called Sound Squeezer, which allows you to play with high gain and sustain at low volumes. It also has the important features of a headphone output and an alternate input, such as an MP3 player. Another important feature I was looking for was sound quality. I wanted an amp that sounded like a good quality home stereo speaker. The Cube 30x has everything I wanted. My guitar playing just sounds better now.

I am replacing a G-DEC Junior with it. Our other amp is my son's Line 6 Spider Jam, which is fabulous, but doesn't have the low volume option like the Cube 30x does.

At last I have a good amp for playing at home.

I played yesterday and today after getting it and can play very satisfactorily without disturbing my family, even at night while they are asleep. It doesn't disturb them. But the sounds I get are very good.

Thank you especially CAFeathers for your excellent advice.

Thats a great amp I have had one for about 6 months now . I would recomend getting the Boss FS-5U Foot Switch or two of them and a Hosa split jack cable.
