Thanks for the kind words. But I look at my own creations and see every mistake that I've made.

Don't get me wrong, they sound GREAT! But cosmetically, I need help.

I see you're at your house. Nice neck of the woods.

I prefer the TS-9 over the Big Muff.

Just recently, I was digging around in a box of old pedals and unearthed a late '80s-era DOD FX55-B Supra Distortion pedal that I used 20 yrs ago. I've seen reviews of the newer ones and they aren't very flattering.

I need something that will work with a twin reverb ri . It's such a clean sounding amp and difficult to get the tubes to break up.

The TS9 or TS808 will do the job.

The good thing is you can get either a TS9 or 808 and there are only a few components that are changed from one to the other. In fact, a large percentage of the distortion boxes out there are very similar in design.

There are several places out there where you can get a kit to build one for a very reasonable price if you have any talent with a soldering iron.

That's my problem. Talent . I guess I'll get the TS-9 or 808. One of those with my Boss ME-50 should do. Thanks

I appreciate the offer Redmax61 but I wish I would have known earlier today because I got impatient and ordered a TS9/808 silver mod from analogman this afternoon. Just my luck and bad timing!! I would like to have something handmade by you though!! A one of a kind thing. Maybe we can come up with somrthing later. Thanks. :) Like that red box you showed us the other day! 8)

For the fuzz sounds...

The Barber Trifecta

"This one is for classic fuzz freaks and newcomers alike. The Barber Trifecta employs a three way toggle switch to seamlessly navigate three classic vintage fuzz circuits producing a plethora of tones from trippy to squishy, through heavy and beyond. The newly minted Barber exclusive "Sludge" control allows players to easily dial in the Trifecta to work perfectly with all types of pickups (humbuckers, single coils even active!). The Sludge control is a pre-fuzz bass control circuit to allow you to adjust exactly how much bass gets pushed through the fuzz circuit. The Trifecta's variable tone control is also a push/pull type switch which lets you go from classic scooped to “boutique” strong fundamental flat style EQ.

The Trifecta’s classic three fuzz circuits are based off of the triangle style pi sound, the Jumbo Bender style and the Suppa Bender style with our boutique mods/magic and superior build quality. These three classic circuits all were very close except for clipping sections (fuzzy stuff) being omitted or added, so we figured, why not make it a Trippy Fuzz party and give the players all three for the price of one!

Finally your vintage Fuzz sounds have TOO MUCH CONTROL! (in a good way)"

For the low gain overdrive sounds...

The Barber LTD

The LTD was requested over and over again by the legions of low gain overdrive players that have been forced to try to "shoe horn" higher gain drives into service by operating them in the lowest part of their drive range. The LTD has been designed from the ground up for the low gain player. Now players of many styles including Blues, country, jazz, funk and beyond have the realistic mild breakup pedal that requires no excuses.

The Sound:

With a perfectly tuned drive and tone controls you will hear terms like clean, purring, bloom, twang, sweet, balanced, smooth, clear, sustain, harmonics etc... flying through your head and hands!

Either one will sound excellent through any Fender Tube Amplifier.
I work with musicians who use them through Supers, DeVilles, Deluxes, etc...with the flexibility of the Barber stuff, there will not be any problems getting a great sound. It is a great match!

Just a thought.
:)

I own a TS9 but have removed it from my pedal board in favor of using a second Big Muff. I have a NYC Big Muff for my most distorted tones and a Sovtek Big Muff from the early 90's. The one made from Soviet military surplus parts. That's my overdrive. Almost everybody uses a Tubescreamer, it's a classic but I prefer to sound more unique.
