Agreed! And I don't believe the vintage guitars are worth their outrageous prices.

I have to say they are made better now because of the new CNC machines being used are so exact when cutting the bodies for fit and quality control is much better now then in the past. Tuning gears are better fit even the old style finishes are better due to the application process, care and quality.

The BEST Year is the model year you played 20 years ago for $300.00; found some after market pickups that sounded so much better than the stock POS pickus and you later sold your CBS strat for a pittance.Fat Forward to today; then ebay and craiglist happened and you see your '74 strat going for $3500.00.
Back then (as now) there was a lot of eliteism in having after market pickups; "everybody" "knew" stock CBS pickups were crap; so you got the Dimarzios or Duncans; they you REALLY got the true strat sound....
yeah yeah yeah. Now the push is for the original "crappy sounding" pickups...
What a world we live in!
