^ i love wolfmother.... their first album was great... people compare them to zeppelin and sabbath, which is about right, but the album is very diverse... i like every track on that album

i own the game and all it did for me is made me pick up my real guitar and play the songs. not too impressed. you guys should check out this game that Fender has a part in. "Rock Band" Lets you play bass, guitar, drums and sing. sounds like a super karaoke machine where you're the band.

rock band looks a lot more inviting than guitar hero, although most people will probably buy the guitar section of the game since there are so many guitar hero fans... i still probably won't get it, i won't play it much, i'd rather just practice guitar

yeah, i know what you mean. i'd just rather pick up my guitar, which is currently sitting on the couch, and annoy the living hell out of my roomate... lol. she really doesn't mind, considering that she's my bandmate as well. we just wrote a song last night.... it's called...

P.S I know this topic was posted a while ago.

IMHO I think Guitar Hero is a waste of time. If you are going to spend all that time learning songs for a game, spend that time on a real guitar.

However, it does introduce music to some people who would otherwise never have been exposed to it elsewhere.

So I am Neutral with my vote.

I think it's a fantastic way to have some fun, especially with a big group of people, but it's certainly not a sub-in for the actual thing.

It's a fun game. My wife and I play it sometimes and it can be a blast when you're competing against someone. I agree with the fact that those who don't play real guitar have an advantage. When you've played for years and try this, your hands are used to making certain motions to hit chords and play leads, etc. The motions of playing a plastic controller come less naturally.

i tried to play it with my nephew. it is so counter-intuitive to anything in my 40 plus years of playing that i put it down after about 2 minutes.

it bugs me when people find out how long i have been playing, and say "wow- you must be good at guitar hero". oy!
