I didn't know they were re-releasing the Rhodes. Great idea.

Still a great piano. I have an old Fender Chroma Polaris synth. It's a dinosaur, but puts out some great analog sounds.

Good article on it here :

ok so the site doesnt actually say when they are releasing the new rhodes, it just says that they will only sell it through their own store online.

Nobody seems to know. Last year they had a big, splashy event to introduce the new EPs and they attend the big trade shows like NAMM and Musikmesse, but there isn't a whole lot of info out there. I haven't checked the website in quite awhile though.

I gotta think they aren't cheap and that they are being bought mostly by pros.

Hey all!

A good friend of mine has just acquired a Rhodes FR7710 (300 watts) and is looking to sell it. He bought a used Rhodes piano from me about a year ago, but apparently this cabinet doesn't work with the piano.

He's heard that the 300 watters are more of a rarity than the 100 watters, and I told him I'd like to talk to you guys first before he puts it on Ebay.

It does have the black grill cloth, and original speakers. The insides are extremely clean. When I looked inside, I expected to see rust or some evidence of being left in a garage for 30 years, but there is nothing.

Just how rare is the 300 watt cab? Is anyone interested in it? What would be a good Ebay starting point?

(He is keeping the piano, and is currently running it through an original 70's Super which, of course, sounds awesome...) :)

Thanks!!
Amy
