I really hope he does not do it.
Performing at halftime of a football match??? Not Bruce, maybe washed up artists like McCartney, Stones et al, may need the publicity in an atempt to sell records or tickets.
Bruce does not need this sort of publicity.
If people want to see him, may I suggest they do so in the correct environment, one of his concerts.

I think it would be great. Both are American icon's. Seems like a good fit to me. Plus, they all live in Jersey. It's a quick and easy way to make a few bucks, perform for millions.

He will 59 years old at the time of the Superbowl hes good but he is just another old timer making a living on the rep. There are modern bands that are good and would behave on stage. Seems that after the deal a few years ago everyone playing at the Superbowl has to hold a AARP card and thats coming from someone in ther 40's

It's practically a National Holiday. It should be a 3 day weekend. A lot of people are in rough shape on Monday.

How did gain so much creedance so quickly, it only began in the late '60's?
Its not like it has proper tradition, seems to me like an invented tradition.

1970 When the AFL and the NFL merged together tradition begins.

All traditions were invented at first weren't they? But the Super Bowl just took off and quicly became America's favorite sporting event. It's our World Cup. Year after year it's posts the highest television ratings of the year. Commercial time is most expensive during a Super Bowl. It's just one huge party the whole country takes part in.

Even doing the season there are hundreds of tailgate parties out side of the Stadiums that start early in the morning and go to the game time.

What I mean is that the tradition element of it was invented, of coarse the event itself had to be invented. In otherwords, the event is sold as this 'ancient' and 'very important' tradition when clearly it is not.
I take your point about the World Cup.

Everyone in America seems to love football (or at least around me in Western PA). People take pride in their teams, so the Super Bowl is probably most Americans' favorite sporting event. Many people know that and give people that day off for family parties and get-togethers.
