A'right, cool. But didn't people start making music videos when, say, MTV came out, when the only time it was possible for people to see them? So sure, maybe in the mid 80's they made m.v.'s, but I really don't think they did. And I have never heard of a Beatles music video.
Srry to carry this on mac67, but I think it shoould be mentioned they did put out two full length films as well as afore mentioned vids.

The first film, "A Hard days Night", was considered very revolutionary for it's time and did a lot to inspire pop-art, and goofiness and mayhem in general. Kind of a Monty Python predecessor.

Second one, "Help", was OK.

Also did a TV special, Magical Mystery Tour, which was shown in England, but flopped. Due in part to the BBC showed it in B&W and it's a color film, D'oh! S'not that bad!

now I will crawl away as you have requested! peas :)

All right... I definetly got the picture.

On a side note, I thought The Beatles used Epiphone Casinos, but was this at a different time they used the strat?

They had other guitars, but John's fav was his Casino and George became a strat man. Paul had a Casino too when he wasn't playing bass.

Think of it this way:

Modern literature before and after William Shakespeare

Modern music before and after Johann Seabastian Bach

Modern art before and after Leonardo DaVinci (the Italian Reanaissance)

Pop music before and after the Beatles

A turning point, for varied reasons. A phemomnenon.

Listen. Compare. Study. Think.

Best of fortune.

the best Beatles member was Paul McCartney

1.) He wrote almost all of the songs (with Lennon of course)

2.) He's an awesome lefty guitar player

3.) He's got an amazing voice

I never cared too much for the Beatles, but I was at Virgin Mobile Festival on Saturday and there was this Japanese Beatles cover band called the Silver Beats. They dressed up just like them and sounded amazingly similar for being Japanese. Actually, after looking through pictures here, they did and dang good job impersonating them. Same instruments, outfits, hair, etc.

Where we would be without them?

Take these quotes for example....spoken by John of course

"When I was a Beatle I thought we were the best f'ing band in the GD world, and beliving that is what made us what we were."

"I'm an artist, and if you give me a tuba, I'll bring you something out of it."

What more can I say.

They influenced so many people, and really changed everything, gave everyone new ideas. You may love em' or hate em' but they were the spark that started it all.

Many British '60s-era guitarists stayed away from Strats because rock guitar in the UK was ruled by Hank Marvin of the Shadows. His sound was so distinctive that other Brit guitarists, like Lennon, Harrison, Townsend, Davies played something else. Also, post-World War II trade restrictions made them hard to find in Europe at the time. Marvin's was believed to be the 1st Strat in England if not Europe.

Harrison bought a couple of Strats about the time they were recording Rubber Soul and Help! He kept one and gave the other to Lennon. My vinyl collection is stored about 1,200 miles away, but I'm sure you can see Harrison's Strat in some of the pics on the Magical Mystery Tour cover and inserts. By then, it had acquired both a psychedelic paint job and a name, "Rocky". My favorite Beatles Strat song is "Nowhere Man".

It is also nice to know that MDC was denied parole again. May he rot in prison!

I have some very vivid childhood memories of my oldest brother - no names mentioned here (ahem . . CHET!) walking out into the living room with a stack of Beatles albums and expecting all of his brothers to make like we were the band while the records played.

I was George.
