MHD has videos for about five hours in the middle of the night.

That network, though, is all music.

the music of today is horrible

it's all screaming and no lyrics what ever happened to bands like Twisted Sister or Aerosmith. Even kids in my school think its horrible. The musicians today are a bunch no talent retards who think they can play guitar, they wear faggedy tight jeans and strum up and down on a few chords and scream in a mic, i just want to go up to them and tell them to shut the f@&% up

anybody else agree?

Anyone who says that there isn't any good music being made today is just being lazy. There's plenty of good stuff, it's just that it 1) is not being played on the radio, 2) is not being pushed by MTV (thank goodness), and 3) doesn't sound like a carbon copy of some band you already like. The last point has been true of every significant artist in the history of recorded music. If you want to listen to something that sounds like Aerosmith, just listen to Aerosmith.

I really don't agree at all. You seem to be making generalizations when there are a plethora of talented bands out there. Sure there are bands like you mentioned that have little actual talent, yet they sell well due to being played on popular radio/MTV. Their fashion has nothing to do with the actual music. Who cares what they wear? Bands are trying to be original like Radiohead. If you want something like Twisted Sister, just listen to them. I'm tired of generic bands who conform to what radio listeners want and copy bands. Not all music is "screaming in a mic" either. While there are more and more "screamo" bands, it certainly isn't the only type of music out there. You simply have to look around. I personally don't like Twisted Sister or Aerosmith, so does that make me someone who "listens to no talent music and wears faggedy jeans?"

And +1 to bluesgrass

I search several sites to sample new music. There are many ways to find music these days such as Pandora which has been around for about 3 yrs but is just taking off now. I'd be interested in knowing how you and others in the community go about finding good music.

Pandora is a great site. I find a lot of my music that way. Otherwise, I'll just go to some random online rock radio stations and see what kind of stuff they're playing. You can usually find some good stuff by going into iTunes and going to the "Radio" section.

I like to search the internet for critics' top ten lists and use sites like myspace to get an idea of what the bands sound like. Also, everyone should abuse their local library as much as possible. That way, you don't have to feel bad if you try something new that you don't like.
