Radar Love - Golden Earring (and one of the best driving songs EVER!)

Golden Earring was not a one-hit band, though. They also had a huge hit with "Twilight Zone", one of the most-played videos ever on MTV (back when MTV actually played ... ummm ... music).

Golden Earring scored another early '80 MTV hit with "When the Bullet Hits the Bone"

I've got you beat - class of '51 here, and yes, I used to play most of those when they were on the charts! You forgot "Nobody But Me" by The Human Beinz. "Pushing Too Hard" by The Seeds is another.

I'll see your Beinz and Seeds, and raise you a
"Bend Me, Shape Me" - The American Breed
"Time won't Let Me" - The Outsiders
"Friday on my Mind" - The Easybeats (which featured Angus and Malcolm Young's older brother, George) 8)

I've heard a radio show called "The Lost 45's" by Barry Scott. Is there really any difference between a lost 45 and a one hit wonder?

Indiana Wants Me -R Dean Taylor

Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield

Manic Monday - The Bangles

Last Kiss - J. Frank Wilson (also Pearl Jam)

Stay - Maurice Williams

Another one I really like is "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations. They also had a medium-sized hit with "Baby Now That I've Found You," but it didn't really break the one-hit curse.

Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus I know it's country kinda but it was the only thing I remember ever hearing on the radio of his. Must be why he is pushing his daughter to make up for his lack of longevity in the business.

After seeing so many one hit wonders listed by so many forum users I realized something. Many of the songs bring back fond memories, even the songs I really didn't like. I don't think I'll poke fun at any more one hit wonders. They have their place in music history, and there are alot of them. Thanks to all who helped with this moment of clarity.

I think that's precisely why they're called one-hit wonders. Some of these are great songs. Most of us don't have one great song in us, but these artists did. I love 'em.

How weird. For some strange reason I've had the line "Indiana wants me, no I can't go back there.." running thru my head the last few days. Now you post about that obscure song. Strange coincidence.

I'm gonna have to argue these two:
On top of Jessie's Girl, Springfield had: I've Done Everything for You, Don't Talk to Strangers, Human Touch and Affair of the Heart.

Bangles also had: Going Down to Liverpool, If She Knew What She Wants, Walk Like an Egyptian, Eternal Flame. I had a HUGE crush on Micheal Steele!

They're Coming to Take Me Away - Napolean XIV. On the 45 version when you turned the record over it played the song backwards

Snoopy vs The Red Baron - The Royal Guardsmen (also had a sequel "The Return of the Red Baron")

There is such thing as decent rap. You just don't hear about it because it doesn't get played on the radio. 99% of the rap on the radio is the exact same song (random shouting, the rapper introducing themselves, and then generic rapping about either women, drugs, etc.). Most aren't one hit wonders either. People consistently listen to an artist's new raps even though they sound EXACTLY the same as the last one.

thank you, some one needed to say this... tired of all the hate
