Am I the only one who can't buy a new piece of gear without purchasing some other accompanying item?

I just got a new Jazzmaster yesterday. Mind you, I play progressive rock/instrumental and have Jacksons and LTD's laying around. This is not my bag baby so that in itself signifies that I have a problem...

Anyway, as I was hitting the checkout tab of IK Multimedia's store buying the Fender pack for Amplitube this morning (I literally have almost every full version amp sim. WHY??? WHY DO I DO THIS????) I realized I have never, and I mean NEVER bought just ONE thing!

When I bought Komplete a few months ago, I HAD to go get the Native Instruments controller even though I had a quite capable controller already. Then once I got that, I HAD to get Maschine, and I don't even do electronic music, less use a drum machine.....

WTH is wrong with me? Am I alone with this affliction, or are there others out there like me?

One of the most basic laws of physics.
GAS will always expand to fill all available space.

I have never played Jazz, nor ever had a desire for a jazz box. I've always wanted a Byrdland because Ted Nugent plays one, but I never cared for the Joe Pass Emperor.

Yet, for my birthday this year, I bought myself....

And vice versa. Available space will always expand to fill any desires caused by GAS.

Well, it beats being a drummer where the sky’s the limit from a triangle to a gong. If ya can’t beat it join ‘em, unless you stick to what you have.
But, on the other hand, I think GAS is like candy. Once you taste it you can’t put it down. The senses and visual appeal is just so purty. Even on a flat screen. :P

Well it is a Syndrome, which means you are at least somewhat crazy, so trying to answer questions about GAS are meaningless! Can't argue with the crazy.

And more GAS... new Partscaster, this one will be getting a Classic 50s Lacquer neck with Gotoh engraved bridge, control, and neck plates, transparent scratchguard, Vintage Noiseless pups, and Sigler 920D Baja controls.
This will make two guitars in 2019, I commissioned one last year that has not been done yet (ready to give up), bought one last year (white AmSpec Strat), bought a Les Paul kit last year, a Taylor acoustic spring of 2015, and an Epiphone SG toward the end of 2014.

Very cool!! But, you are making my condition worse because I already decided my next acquisition was going to be to make my own partscaster... I've already been on the hunt.

Very cool guitar Rich! Have fun with her (or is it a he).
Who's idea was it to pass the GAS this time?
You Bros have started something good again.
OOh boy, a Forumcaster would have many choices now. Oui or non?

Nice, Rich. I like your taste, but if I have any more I’ll get gas just when I’m trying to cut back. Fat chance on that habit, huh?
