Designing my own guitar and let me tell you... things are getting pretty wild   8)
I have one pickup slot available in a fender strat (its a humbucker slot) and I would really like the position-4 (middle/neck) sound from the custom 69 single coils. Oh that vintage blues sound, it sounds unreal! Can I bridge them somehow as a humbucker or as two single-coils in the humbucker slot?

So on my new H-S-H config, position 1 is humbucker x, position 3 is singlecoil y, and position 1 now becomes the new hybrid sound (position 4) from the custom shop 69's... any advice is appreciated for I am but a padawan when it comes to understanding how this works.

(for reference)

Better to post on Stratocaster sub forum, experts are there.

Sorry I read 3 times your post and I don't understand;
1- What you have
2- What you want

'cause I'm french Canadian ?

Well, the dual Lace Sensors are basically two "single coils" beside one another.
And there was the John Jorgenson Double Tele; an example @ reverb.com

So, theoretically it's possible. I have no idea of what that would sound like, but test it and record a sample of the results. You could even wire a mini switch for a series/parallel option between those 69's.

But, if you don't mind a personal opinion, getting the signature CS69 sound might be easiest to achieve by using the normal pickup/wiring system.

Not all you tube videos are reliable references, what amplifier is being used, what is the signal path, how it was recorded, was it edited w/ software, etc. makes a huge difference to what we hear through our tiny speakers/head phones.

+1000

I don't trust what I hear on my PC from YT or others

Welcome, duhbe:

I agree with the “trust your ears” approach. Looks like you have a challenge cut out for you.

JMattis had one solution by adding a mini switch. Not being an expert on this configuration, A Super Switch may come in handy as an alternative and it can be used more or less for a plethora of setups. An S-1 switch might also be another possibility. It would take some doing, but you could end up with a stock arrangement plus a simple switch to get you into what you have in mind. Easy peasy is always best, especially to troubleshoot. :P
As far as the exact modification I’ll leave that to the experts, the Super Switch may lead you in the right direction with their help, however.

Good luck with your project. Hope it works out for you. If you get it to work, pass on the details and let us know. :D
