Jonathon Coulton is cool. I really like almost everyting Ben Folds has done since the Five, and I'm digging The Shins and Kings of Convenience right now.

There's a killer hip-hop-y thing by Scritti Pollitti from years back called "Die Alone" that I can't get out of my iPod rotation.... uber-coool.

"I make the incision, sleep like volcano,
Uh... yeah... it's not better,
I make the confession, good 'cause I say so...
Uh... yeah... it's not better."

I don't understand why musicians wouldn't dig hip-hop. I mean, 80% of rock music is derivative crap that demeans women and has no more depth than a puddle, but you don't go around saying, "I'll listen to anything but rock," do you?

just listen to this band last night but Bishop Allen. Simply a great rock band. no gimmiks or anything like that. just good 'ol rock music. plus the lead signer, justin rice, is just a all around great guy.

Bishop Allen

joss stone is a siren...that voice could make me rob fort knox.nice funky/hip hop jams on her new album. i havent got a chance to check out amy winehouse but shes on my list. still cant much get over brand new's latest. its like a modern and darker re-issue of the cure. dj tiesto also put out a killer album not to long ago for anyone thats into trance.

Gravity Jim , in response to your hip hop question, ive been playing bass for 7 years and i love hip hop. it must say though that it has to have good production. i dont like stuff that has a bass hit and maybe one other "sound" on loop while they rap about sumthin stupid. i love the fugees, (and their stuff after), jay-z, nas, slick rick, fort minor, the geto boys, akon , and k-os i'd have to say would be on top of my list. (probly cus his stuff is so diverse).
